  25. Hi,
  26.   I've just put up a kernel for the A440/R260 etc. It's available
  27. only via http at the moment at

  30. so that you can press shift-click on the link so Netscape downloads
  31. it as a file).

  33. It has Acorn SCSI (read only) built in, Acorn Ether1, Ether3, MFM.
  34. NFS, ext2, MSDOS and ADFS (Read only) file systems and has been
  35. configured to allow NFS root filesystems.

  37. WIERDO ALERT: F12 is mapped to space (space also works as space) -
  38. because the space key keeps failing on one of my machines.

  40. Its presently running happily on my A440/1 with root and swap on a
  41. 64MB MFM drive and on an R260 with 8MB of RAM with root fs on my PC via
  42. NFS and no swap.  On both machines it will mount read only the ADFS
  43. filesystem on my Acorn SCSI card drives.

  45. Note: At the moment ARM Linux can't cope with R260's/A540's with more
  46. than 8MB of RAM because we don't know how Acorn has implemented it.

  48. It is A LOT faster on ARM 3 machines than previous versions - the downer
  49. is that there is the potential of some screen corruption at the moment
  50. from editors which use scrolling subwindows on the console - although
  51. this effect hasn't actually been observed.

  53. Another problem: The standard boot loader doesn't work on Risc OS 2.
